What is the story of tind ? Born and raised inside a silkscreen workshop, my mother breastfeed me with fluorescent colours while my dad sung lullabies while exposing the screens. I am a second generation silkscreen printer working with my dad at a small studio in Athens, taking over high quality and precision projects.

How do you find the balance between your role of printer and your qualities of art director ? Well I tend to consider myself primarily as a printer and not as an art director but to answer the question, I think that having a classic education as a graphic designer gave me an insight on how to think as a creator and allow me to overcome potential obstacles we can encounter during production processes.

We noticed that you organize workshops, why is this important for you to teach to others your particular skills ? Can you tell us more about the Children's Book & Silkscreen Print Workshop organised last year ? Sharing is caring. But to be honest I usually learn more than I teach. I became a better printer by teaching. The Children's Book & Silkscreen Print Workshop we did last year with Kostis Sotirakos at OCC (Onassis Cultural Center) was a life-changing experience. Kids are the best students I ever had. They are fearless in screen printing and their imagination and energy are limitless. Through numerous design exercises and prints, children imagined their own story using shapes and colors. They gave us wonderful results which we screen-printed with the help of Chris Angelakis in a limited edition book.

How do you experience the greek economic situation ? Well it has upsides and downsides. We are struggling to survive on daily bases. Even if the work we do tend to be recognized outside our borders, here we offer quality in a market that has few need for it. The ones that do need our services though are wonderful and gave us the opportunity to be involved in rewarding project the last years. You win some, you loose some.
